DUSHANBE, March 12, 2011, Asia-Plus — In Tajikistan, inflation for the first two months of this year has stood at 0.6 percent, while the country’s Consumer Index Price index inflation for the past twelve months (from February 2011 to February 2012) have been estimated at 6.5 percent,
according to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT).
Last month, inflation stood at 0.2 percent, an official source at Tajik central bank said.
We will recall that inflation for January of 2011 stood at 2.0 percent and inflation for February of 2011 stood at 1.3 percent.
At first, the government expected the year-end inflation rate for 2011 to stand at 7.0 percent, but in mid-year the year-end inflation was revised from 7.0 to 11 percent. Meanwhile, the year-end inflation rate for the last year stood at 9.8 percent.
The National Bank of Tajikistan expects the year-end inflation in Tajikistan to stand at 10.5 percent this year.
