DUSHANBE, April 5, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Customs officers reportedly seized some 500 grams of heroin at the Khujand airport, Sughd province on April 4.

An inspection of passengers on the Khujand-Moscow flight found four wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing some 500 grams hidden in shoes of local resident U.M., an official source at the Tajik Customs Service said.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler and an investigation is under way.
