DUSHANBE, July 16, 2012, Asia-Plus — A total number of crimes and the number of serious crimes reported over the first six months of this year have decreased by 5.7 and 32.4 percent respectively compared to January-June of 2011, an official website of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) reports.

A meeting of the MoI board took place in Dushanbe on July 14.  The meeting reportedly reviewed the results of the work carried out over the first half-year of 2012 and activities of the organized crime control (UBOP), criminal investigation and anti-drug directorates of the ministry over the report period.

According to the statistical data from the MoI, Tajik police have solved 418 drug-related crimes and seized 1,907 kilograms of narcotics over the same six-month period.
