DUSHANBE, September 11, 2012, Asia-Plus  — A training on holding tactical events for Tajik law enforcement officers is going on at the Training Center of the Drug Control Agency (DCA) in Dushanbe.

According to the DCA press center, the training that kicked off on September 3 will last until September 14.  The training is conducted as part of The NATO-Russia Council (NRC) Counter-Narcotics Training Project for Central Asian and Afghan law enforcement personnel, which is implemented by the UNODC Regional Office fro Central Asia.

The training participants reportedly include officers from the counternarcotics agency, interior ministry and the customs service.  They are studying various issues related to holding tactical and operational events to combat drug trafficking and interaction while holding various joint events.

Specialists from the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Department, Turkish National Police are conducting the training, the source said.
