Working group consisting of representatives of related ministries of Russia is expected to arrive in Dushanbe this evening to discuss removal of import duties on light oil products for Tajikistan.
As reported by Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industry, the sides are scheduled to discuss and prepare the agreement. “We will discuss all related issues, including those which should be discussed with our custom authorities. The talks may take a week or a couple of days. We also talk about indicative petroleum balance since we need to discuss it once again and specify the volume we plan to import from Russia till the end of this year,” the source has said.
It remains unclear whether the agreement will be inked on November 1. “Anyway, we will sign it in early November and we will be able to import light oil products at zero rates as we did before,” the source added.
At the same time, starting from 1st of November Russia will reduce export duties on oil products for non-members of the Custom Union.
Export duties on light oil products in November will make $267 per each ton as compared to October’s $276.4, the Government of Russia reported via its official website.
Export duties on gasoline were reduced from $377 per ton in October down to $364.1 in November.
Memorandum on duty-free import of light oil products to Tajikistan was inked on October 5 in the course of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Tajikistan. According to the document, the sides should sign the agreement before November 1. However, most probably the document will be signed later.
