DUSHANBE, January 3, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Three persons, including two kids, were killed and at least two others were injured on January 1 in a gas blast at a house in the Zafarobod district, Sughd province, according to the Interior Ministry’s press center.

A woman and her three-year-old daughter and five-year-old son were among those who were killed and her father and her husband sustained serious injuries, the source said.

The injured persons were rushed to a local hospital.

The cause of the gas explosion is under investigation.

Three days earlier, similar tragedy occurred in the Spitamen district, Sughd province, the press center reports.

One person was killed and four others injured in a gas explosion in the Kurush jamoat.  A two-year-old girl died and four persons were seriously injured following the gas blast.  The injured persons were taken to a local hospital.

The explosion was caused by incorrect or careless use of a gas cylinder, the source said.
