Dushanbe’s budget earmarks over TJS 4.2 mln for extra payments to pensions and allowances

DUSHANBE, January 4, 2012, Asia-Plus  — Dushanbe’s budget for 2013 earmarks more than 4.2 million (TJS) for additional payments to pensions and allowances for veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, participants of military conflicts in territories of other countries, participants in the Chernobyl clean-up operation, survivors of Leningrad’s siege and home front workers awarded orders and medals, according to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

Besides, these funds will also be spent on extra payments to wages of persons working with Dushanbe-based boarding schools and orphanages as well as for providing extraordinary grants to pensioners who are age 75 or over and paying high achiever scholarships.

149 veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, three families of participants of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 who do not have relatives to support will receive 300.00 somoni in addition to their pensions per month each.  115 invalids of the armed conflict in Afghanistan (1978-1987) will receive 100.00 somoni per month each.

Three survivors of Leningrad’s siege, 172 participants in the Chernobyl clean-up operation, and 340 home front workers living in Dushanbe will also receive 100.00 somoni per month each.

8199 pensioners who are age 75 and over will also receive 100.00 somoni in addition to their pensions once a year.

431 employees of Dushanbe-based boarding schools, orphanages, children’s centers and the center for teacher professional development will receive 50.00 somoni per month each, the source said.
