DUSHANBE, January 14, 2013, Asia-Plus — The Propagation and Analysis Center has been set up at the Executive Committee of Tajikistan’s ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
An official source at the party’s executive committee says the main objective of the center is in propagating the PDP ideas and analyzing events taking place in the country.
Adham Mirsaidov, leader of PDP’s youth organization, Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), had been appointed to head center.
According to him, the center will enlist the services of experts on the Tajik economy, politics and journalism. “The center will present an updated website of the party in the near future,” Mirsaidov noted.
The People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan was founded in 1993. Its chairman is President Emomali Rahmon. The party controls some 70 percent of seats in the lower house (Majlisi Namoyandagon) of the parliament. It is the largest party, boasting more than 195,000 registered members. Young people reportedly constitute some 40 percent of the party members. The official newspaper of the party is
