DUSHANBE, January 14, 2013, Asia-Plus  — Two persons have been killed by an avalanche in the Rasht Valley (eastern Tajikistan).

Two persons – Fayzullo Jamilov, 20, and Muhammadi Abdullo, 12 – were buried when an avalanche hit an area between the villages of Askalon and Sharkho in the Rasht district on January 13, according to the Committee for Emergency Situations (CES) under the Government of Tajikistan.

Besides, one person was killed in Varzob district on January 11 after an avalanche swept away a vehicle.  Three other persons were rescued, the CES source said.
