During the event, Azerbaijani president reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current state of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Ilham Aliyev in particular, noted that Tajik President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Baku in July 2012 paved the way for further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan.  He stressed that Azerbaijan considers Tajikistan to be Azerbaijan’s friendly country and reliable partner.

In the course of the talks, the sides also discussed issues related to implementation of cooperation agreements, including the program of economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan that was signed during Tajik president’s official visit to Baku.
