DUSHANBE, February 18, 2013, Asia-Plus  — The Eastern Boiler-House of the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant in Dushanbe has stopped generating heat.

According to the Dushanbe mayor’s office, the heat generation facility stopped generating heat because of technical problems with gas generators for gasification of coal.

We will recall that the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO) delivered two gas generators for the Dushanbe CHP Plant in late December last year.  The gas generators have been installed at the Eastern Boiler-House.

Coal gasification is the process of producing coal gas, a type of syngas (synthesis gas) – a mixture of carbon monoxide (CO), hydrogen (H2), carbon dioxide (CO2) and water vapour (H2O)–from coal.
