DUSHANBE, September 25, 2013, Asia-Plus – The 34-year-old resident of Khatlon’s Shouroobod district, Jamshed Barotov, was arrested in Dushanbe on September 24 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.
According to the Interior Ministry’s official website, some 24 kilograms of raw opium were found hidden in his VAZ-2121.
The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that the confiscated narcotics belong to the 30-year-old resident of Shouroobod district, Zarif Safarov.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
