Further progress on the EU project for the establishment of single window in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, September 26, 2013, Asia-Plus — Press release issued by the European Union (EU) Delegation to Tajikistan says that the senior management of INTRASOFT International S.A. delivered a presentation to major Government stakeholders at the EU Delegation to Tajikistan office in Dushanbe on September 18 to mark the deployment of the new system software and commencement of the project’s Pilot Implementation stage.

The achievements of the project since its commencement in June 2012 were highlighted during the presentation and the objectives of the Pilot Implementation stage were laid out to those in attendance. This important trade facilitation project involves inter-organizational coordination and the utilization of advanced web technologies which will bring significant benefits to foreign trade operators, Government efficiency and transparency as well as marked improvements in national wealth as international trade is simplified.  The presentation was followed by very active discussion by the key stakeholders in attendance.

In June 2012, the European Union and INTRASOFT International S.A. signed a contract for the implementation of the project, “Support to the Establishment of Single Window for Export, Import and Transit Procedures in Tajikistan”.

INTRASOFT International S.A. will implement the Single Window system and put it into operation at the State Unitary Enterprise “Single Window Center,” established under the Customs Service of the Government of Tajikistan and across five (5) regional centers of eleven (11) state bodies and other organizations involved.

INTRASOFT International S.A. have already completed the Design Phase of the project and the Construction Phase during which the system software was developed and tested.  At present, the project is in the Transition stage where the system software is deployed for pilot testing at two Government agencies (Service of the State Supervision of Pharmaceutical Activities of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry) across the three (3) regional centers of Dushanbe, Khujand and Qurghon Teppa.

Preliminary training for this Pilot Implementation stage has already commenced.  The Pilot implementation will run for two (2) calendar months.

INTRASOFT International S.A. have commenced training needs assessment and will be responsible for the training of Government officials at all the involved state bodies and other organizations (some forty  eight (48) offices), Customs brokers, Customs Service officials and private businesses engaged in foreign trade at five (5) locations in Tajikistan.
