DUSHANBE, November 19, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister, Nizomiddin Zohidov, met here yesterday with Russia’s interagency delegation, led by Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the sides exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.

They, in particular, discussed cooperation between the two nations on implementation of projects of the UN agencies in Tajikistan, which are being implemented under support of Russia.

The sides also discussed further ways of expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia in political, military and technical, economic, and humanitarian areas.  

They reportedly appreciated mutual support for initiatives of the countries within the United Nations and active cooperation on promotion of common regional initiatives in the United Nations.

The sides assured each other that the process of expansion and strengthening of bilateral cooperation between their countries would continue on the basis of principles of strategic partnership and mutual interests in the future as well, the Tajik MFA information department said.
