DUSHANBE, November 20, Asia-Plus — Some members of both chambers of the parliament are expected to be transferred to governmental posts.

We will recall that former governor of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) Qodir Qosim, who is also vice speaker of Tajikistan’s upper house (Majlisi Milli) of parliament, was appointed to head the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property Management (GosKomInvest).

Therefore, Mr. Qdir Qosim should be released from his parliamentary duties.

“In the near future, the president is expected to sign a decree appointing Ms. Marhabo Jabborova, the chairperson of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) Committee on Education, Science and Youth Policy, Deputy Prime Minister,” said the source.  “She will be in charge of social issues, culture, science and information.”

He further added that it could not be ruled out that some other members of Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament would also be transferred to governmental posts.
