DUSHANBE, January 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Kyrgyzstan’s Foreign Ministry reports that Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldayev yesterday had a telephone conversation with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Aslov.

Issues related to resolution of a January 11 border incident were a major topic of the conversation that was reprotedly held at the request of the Tajik side.

The sides confirmed mutual intention to conduct a joint investigation into the incident and relevant measures should be introduced against persons who provoked the conflict, Kyrgyz MFA noted.

The ministers also discussed further steps to the conflict resolution and Abdyldayev reprotedly said that the Kyrgyz side was waiting for irrefragable answers to all questions that had been raised in Kyrgyz MFA’s notes regarding the incident.
