DUSHANBE, February 3, 2014, Asia-Plus — By education minister’s order winter’s school vacation period has been extended till February 10, Mahmoudkhon Shoyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Science, told Asia-Plus Monday afternoon.

According to him, the winter school holidays have been extended due to cold weather that has set in

“The order applies to all educational facilities, including pre-school institutions, comprehensive secondary schools and higher educational institutions,” Shoyev said.

According to the forecast of the Tajik Hydrometeorology Center, cold weather will hold on in the country till February 5.  

We will recall that winter’s school vacation period have lasted from January 1 to January 31 since 2011, while the autumn (October 24-November 1) and the spring holidays (March 24-April1) were canceled.  Besides, by minister’s order, the school year that usually ended on May 25 has been extended till June 10.
