DUSHANBE, February 4, 2014, Asia-Plus — Dushanbe Mayor Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev held a meeting on February 3 to discuss measures to ensure the regular work of the city’s economy during winter period and mitigate effects of recent heavy snowfalls.

The meeting participants included heads of Dushanbe’s districts, members of the Dushanbe legislature and heads of relevant municipal agencies.

“The mayor ordered relevant bodies to take adequate measures to ensure the regular work of all social facilities of the city,” Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the mayor also ordered to prepare a draft resolution decree on raising wages of street cleaners by 1,000 somoni (TJS) during winter period (December-February).  “700 somoni will be provided by the city budget and 300 somoni be provided by the district budgets,” the spokesman said.

The mayor reportedly also pointed to the necessity of providing the population with regular electricity, drinking water, passenger transport services and communal service.
