DUSHANBE, February 7, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan’s state investment project portfolio now contains 50 projects to the total amount of 9.9 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 2.2 billion U.S dollars under Tajik central bank’s currency exchange rate), according to the State Committee on Investments and State-owned Property (GosKomInvest)

An official source at GosKomInvest says the portfolio includes 15 loan projects, 19 grant projects, and 16 projects that are financed both by loans and grants.

The volume of grants reportedly amounts to 3.9 billion somoni.

These projects are financed mainly by the Asian Development Bank (560.7 million U.S. dollars), Export-Import Bank of China (559.6 million U.S. dollars), the World Bank (208.3 million U.S. dollars, the Islamic Development Bank (120.9 million U.S. dollars), other international financial institutions (504.4 million U.S. dollars).  The government’s co-contribution to these projects reportedly amounts to 133.3 million U.S. dollars.

According to data from GosKomInvest, more than 1.2 billion somoni were drawn last year for implementation of the state investment projects.
