DUSHANBE, February 11, 2014, Asia-Plus — Royal chestnut seedlings from Belgium are being planted along streets in Dushanbe.
“Chestnut trees will replace chinars (oriental planes) that were uprooted along the Ayni Street during the road repair work,” Shavkat Saidov, a spokesman for the Dushanbe mayor’s office, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, 22 million somoni worth of 3,000 royal chestnut seedlings have been delivered to the Tajik capital.
