DUSHANBE, February 11, 2014, Asia-Plus – The Islamic Revival Party (IRP) board states that the IRP-membership card that allegedly belongs to the detained rapist from Isfara has actually been forged by the Tajik security authorities.
According to a statement posted on IRP’s website, the IRP representatives have thoroughly studied the situation after the report about the arrest of Mahmadullo Kholov was aired by Tajik national TV channels Shabakai Avval (Channel One) and Safina on Friday February 7.
It reportedly turned out that Mahmadullo Kholov has never been member of the IRP and the party-membership card under the serial number of 16473 was issued to Ms. Azia Soliyeva from the village of Chorkuh in Isfara.
Therefore, it is safe to say that the IRP-membership card shown on Tajik national TV channels last Friday was forged by the security authorities in order to blacken the IRP reputation, the statement says.
We will recall that Tajik national TV channels Shabakai Avval (Channel One) and Safina aired the report about detention of Mahmadullo Kholov, who is suspected of raping his two stepdaughters. The report noted that Mahmadullo Kholov has been member of the Islamic Revival Party of Tajikistan since 1991.
Meanwhile, a statement released by the IRP board on February 8 says that Mahmadullo Kholov has never been member of the Islamic Revival Party and the IRP-membership card # 16473 that was shown during the TV report was issued not to Mahmadullo Kholov but to Ms. Aziza Soliyeva from Isfara and it was issued in 2009.
The IRP board strongly condemns actions of the law enforcement agencies and local authorities and urges the government to stop such action and strictly implement norms of the Constitution and other laws of the country, the February 8 statement said.
