DUSHANBE, March 5, 2014, Asia-Plus — Kyrgyzstan’s share in Tajikistan’s fuel imports has dropped from 50 percent to 0.7 percent, while Russia’s share has increased from 40.1 percent to 83.7 percent, according to the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources (MoEWR).

An official source at a MoEWR says that Tajikistan imported 66,509 tons of oil products in January 2014, which was 20,600 tons more than in the same period last year.

A totaled reportedly included 55,653 tons of oil products delivered from Russia (83.7 percent), 6,248 tons of oil products delivered from Azerbaijan (9.4 percent) 3,349 tons of oil product delivered from Kazakhstan (5.0 percent) and 435 tons of oil product delivered from Kyrgyzstan (0.7 percent).

An average price for one ton of oil products delivered to the country in January this year was 853.00 USD, which was 327.00 USD fewer than in the same period last year.  

Gasoline reportedly constituted 43.1 percent (28,697) tons of oil products delivered to Tajikistan in January this year.  An average price for one ton of gasoline delivered to the country in January was 733.00 USD, 379.00 USD fewer than in January 2012.

Tajikistan imported 27,300 tons of diesel fuel in January 2014 (41.2 percent of the overall volume of oil products delivered to Tajikistan in January 2014).  An average price for one ton of diesel fuel delivered to the country in January was 817.00 USD, 279.00 USD fewer than in January 2012.

Besides, Tajikistan imported 8,243 tons of aviation fuel (12.4 percent), 963 tons of fuel oil, 768 tons of engine oils, and 743 tons of bitumen in January this year.
