DUSHANBE, March 13, 2014, Asia-Plus /Avaz Yuldoshev/ — A special operation carried out by police officers near the village of Hushyori in the Varzob district, some 42 kilometers of Dushanbe, on March 11 led to the seizure of a large amount of narcotics.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, 97.2 kilograms of hashish were found hidden in Mercedes-Benz belonging Umedjon Izatullo.

Umedjon Izatullo reportedly said that the confiscated hashish belonged to Dushanbe resident Abdurahmon Murodov.

Both alleged drug pushers have been arrested and criminal proceedings have been instituted against them; an investigation is under way.
