DUSHANBE, March 15, 2014, Asia-Plus — €64,400 are reportedly needed for surgery for soldier Shahbol Mirzoyev, who was severely beaten by medic Usmon Ghayratov.

Shahbol Mirzoyev suffered a broken neck, paralyzed left leg and injured hands.

His father, Numon Mirzoyev, says he has sent tomography scan results to one of hospitals in Germany and they said that it is necessary to perform medical surgery that will cost 64,400 Euros. “I do not have so much money,” Numon Mirzoyev told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, he has applied to President Emomali Rahmon with solicitation to take investigation into that incident under his personal control. “All those guilty should be punished,” said Numon Mirzoyev, “” Commander of this military unit, Zafar Mirzoyev should also be punished.”

“In my letter, I also ask the president to facilitate the performance of surgery on my son and those guilty should pay for surgery and medical treatment for my son,” Numon Mirzoyev noted.

We will recall that Numon Mirzoyev has noted Usmon Ghayratov allows himself severe treatment of soldiers because his father works at prosecutor’s office

Meanwhile, the military prosecutor’s office says criminal proceedings have been instituted against Usmon Ghayratov under the provisions of Article 373 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – violation of military regulations; an investigation is under way.
