DUSHANBE, August 6, 2014, Asia-Plus — A Tajik delegation led by Murod Khol, the head o the Main Geology Directorate under the Government of Tajikistan, participated in the XVIII session of the CIS Intergovernmental Council for the Exploration, Use and Conservation of Mineral Resources that took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan at the end of last week.

The session reportedly reviewed the results of the work carried out by the CSI geology agencies in 2013-2013 and discussed the progress of implementation of a long-range plan of joint works designed for 2011-2015.

The Tajik delegation was recommended to intensify work on management problems of hazardous exogenic geological processes within the CIS area.

Geology agencies of the CIS member nations should submit information on hazardous exogenic geological processes to the Main Geology Directorate under the Government of Tajikistan by January 2015 for publishing the collection of works on hazardous exogenic geological processes within the CIS area.

Meanwhile, Tajik Deputy Prime Minister, Azim Ibrohim has been given a title “Honorary Member of the CIS Council for Exploration, Use and Conservation of Mineral Resources” his contribution to expansion of cooperation between the CIS member nations in exploring, using and conserving mineral resources.

The CIS Intergovernmental Council for Exploration, Use and Conservation of Mineral Resources was established to expand cooperation between the CIS member nations in the area of surveying, exploring, using and conserving mineral resources.  The main objective of the Council is in achieving the goals and resolving the tasks set in the Agreement on Cooperation in the Area of Mineral and Raw Materials Resources Surveying, Exploration and Use and the ones set in the Mining Charter of CIS members nations through mutually-agreed efforts taken by signatories to the Agreement on Cooperation in the Area of Mineral and Raw Materials Resources Surveying, Exploration and Use.
