DUSHANBE, September 10, 2014, Asia-Plus – A visit of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to Tajikistan has been postponed for technical reasons, a source at the Tajik MFA information department told Asia-Plus today morning.
We will recall that Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was scheduled to arrive in Dushanbe Tuesday afternoon and officials meetings were expected to start in Dushanbe today.
“Iranian president is expected to arrive in Dushanbe today afternoon,” the source said. He refrained from giving further details.
While in Tajikistan, President Rouhani is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon, Majlisi Namoyandagon Speaker Shukurjon Zuhurov and Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda.
On September 11, Iranian president will meet representatives of Tajik scientific community and on September 12, Hassan Rouhani will attend a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Iran has observer status in the SCO.
The second unit of the Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power (HPP) is expected to be unveiled during Rouhani’s visit to Tajikistan.
Meanwhile, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reportedly visited Kazakhstan on September 8-9.
