DUSHANBE, September 10, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan and Iran on Wednesday signed nine agreements on economic and cultural cooperation and joint campaign against drug trafficking.
The agreements were signed in Dushanbe in the presence of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and his Iranian counterpart Hassan Rouhani at the Palace of Nation (Kokhi Millat).
The sides, in particular, signed a joint communiqué on expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Besides, a government-to-government agreement on cooperation in the field of law-and-order and strengthening security, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in combating drug trafficking, a program of cooperation between the Foreign Ministries of the two countries, a MoU on cooperation between the Committee for Family and Women’s Affairs of Tajikistan and the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee of Iran, a MoU on cooperation between the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of Tajikistan and the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee of Iran, a MoU on cooperation between the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan and the Iranian MFA Institute for Political and International Studies, a MoU on cooperation between the Committee for Tajik Language and Terminology under the President of Tajikistan and Iran”s Academy of Persian Language and Literature, a MoU on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan and the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee of Iran, and a MoU on cooperation between the Committee for Youth Sports and Tourism under the Government of Tajikistan and the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee of Iran were signed.
