DUSHANBE, September 24, 2014, Asia-Plus — Members of the Uzbek delegation have assessed positively the events that were carried out this year during Tajikistan’s chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Zafar Rahimzhanov, Counselor of the Uzbek Embassy in Dushanbe,  said at a roundtable that took place here on September 24.

He, in particular, noted that a SCO summit creates a good platform for holding bilateral meetings.  “Our delegation held three bilateral meetings during the SCO summit in Dushanbe,” Uzbek diplomat noted.

He made special reference to the bilateral meeting of Uzbek President Islam Karimov with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon.  “Our republic pins hopes on this meeting and we expect significant changes in relations between our countries,” Rahimzhanov stressed.
