DUSHANBE, October 8, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday October 8, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon participated in a ceremony of an official opening of a new cotton processing enterprise in Khatlon’s Khuroson district.

According to the president’s official website, the Khuroson cotton processing plant with an annual capacity of 60,000 tons is the largest of its kind enterprise in Tajikistan.

31 million somoni have reportedly been spent for construction and equipment of this enterprise.  The Khuroson cotton processing plant is reportedly provided with the state-of-the-art equipment and 165 people work for the enterprise in two shifts at an average wage of 1,700 somoni.
