DUSHANBE, October 14, 2014, Asia-Plus – A parliamentarian’s son has been involved in a deadly traffic accident tin Dushanbe.

The Interior Ministry’s official website reports that Opel-Astra driven by the 25-year-old Sorbon Talbakov, the son of MP Ismoil Talbakov, struck a pedestrian, 46-year-old Jamol Ghulomov

The accident took place on October 13 near the bus terminal.

Sorbon Talbakov rushed Jamol Ghulomov to the hospital, where the latter died, the source said.

It is already the second deadly traffic accident involving children of public figures that was registered in Dushanbe over the past twenty days.

Fifty-four-year-old street cleaner, Ms. Zevarmo Pirova, died instantly after Mercedes hit her while she was sweeping street near Hyatt Regency Dushanbe Hotel.  The accident took place on September 29, at around 4:30 am.

“The blow was so powerful that Zevarmo’s body was torn to pieces and her two colleagues fell down in a faint as they contemplated the scene.  They were taken to the National Medical Center (Qariyai Bolo hospital),” Nazri Niyozov, the acting head of the road servicing department in Dushanbe’s Sino district, told Asia-Plus in an interview, noting that the driver escaped the accident scene.

According to him, Firouz Kholiqzoda, an aide to a chief prosecutor in Dushanbe’s Ismoili Somoni district, was involved in that deadly traffic accident.  The Dushanbe prosecutor’s office has reportedly instituted criminal proceedings against Kholiqzoda, who faces charges in deadly accident and escaping the accident scene.
