DUSHANBE, October 15, 2014, Asia-Plus — The European Week, initiated by the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, has become an integral part of the local cultural life. This annual event promotes the convergence of the European Union and Tajikistan, presents different cultures and traditions of Europe to the Tajik public and induces cultural bridges between people.
The European Week is an important vector to enhance the awareness of the current relations between the European Union and the Republic of Tajikistan. Indeed, it explains in more details the role of the EU in Tajikistan and the EU integration process in the Tajik society.
According to the Delegation of the European Union to Tajikistan, the European Week will be held from October 25 to November 2 in Dushanbe and in Varzob.
The program of the Euroweek reportedly includes several activities organized by Bactria Cultural Center and its partners, representing the diversity of European cultures and bringing together the peoples of Tajikistan and the European Union.
The partners are the International Debate Education Association (IDEA), the Swiss Cooperation Office (SCO), the Embassy of France in Tajikistan, the Ministry of Culture of Tajikistan and Beeline.
The European Film Festival is organized with the support of: the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Goethe Institute, the Cooperation and Development Italian organization (CESVI), the Hungarian Embassy, the Embassy of Spain and the Embassy of Finland in Astana.
