DUSHANBE, November 18, 2014, Asia-Plus — A resident of Khatlon’s Panj district has reportedly been detained with a large amount of heroin in the city of Tursunzoda, some 60 kilometers west of Dushanbe.

The Interior Ministry’s website reports that Shamsullo Kajakov, 33, was detained in Tursunzoda on suspicion of drug pushing on November 17.  A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing nearly one kilogram was confiscated from him.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug peddler and an investigation is under way, the source said.
