DUSHANBE, November 21, 2014, Asia-Plus – Khatlon prosecutor’s office has denied report about abduction of a child in Qumsangir that was released by the Interior Ministry’s website yesterday as unfounded.
Varqa Zayniddinov, a senior aide to the Khalton chief prosecutor, says the 30-year-old Lidiya Kurskaya, who now lives in Moscow, is the mother of that nine-month old baby.
“Parents of the husband, who was drafted last May, turned their Russian daughter-in-law out of the house and did not allow her to see her son,” said Zaynididnov. “The husband’s parents did not have the right to prevent Lidiya Kurskaya from seeking her son; she has the right to see her son at any time. She was forced to penetrate into the house and take the baby with her.”
He noted that Lidiya Kurskaya had not been arrested and no criminal proceedings had been instituted against her. “She is currently with her son in the house of her friends in the Roudaki district,” the prosecutor said.
We will recall that the Interior Ministry’s website reported yesterday that a young woman from the Qumsangir district in Khatlon province has been arrested on suspicion of child abduction.
According to the Interior Ministry’s website, Qumsangir resident, H.A., 55, applied to the Interior Ministry’s office in Qumsangir on November 19, saying that her former daughter-in-law, L.K., 30, penetrated into her house on the night of November 19 and abducted a one-month-old baby.
The alleged kidnapper has been detained and criminal proceedings have been instituted against her; an investigation is under way, the source said.
