Delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs visits Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, November 28, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Thursday November 27, Sharif Said, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI), received a delegation of Turkish entrepreneurs engaged in construction business.

Mr. Kadir Gursoy, the head of the Tajik-Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TATSIAD), also attended the meeting.  

According to the CCI press center, Turkish entrepreneurs showed interest in establishment of cooperation with representatives of the Tajik business community.

Speaking at the meeting, CCI head reportedly underlined a significant role of businessmen’s associations of the two countries in expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Turkey.    

The CCI press center notes that Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry now has close partnership with the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and actively cooperates with the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey (TUSKON) and Turkey Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK).

“Turkish companies are interested in participation in implementation of priority national projects in Tajikistan aimed at enhancement of Tajikistan’s agrarian, industrial, construction, tourism, and education sectors,” Mr. Gursoy was quoted as assaying by the CCI press center.

Turkey is one of the main trading partners of Tajikistan.  Turkish companies particularly show interest in projects financed by foreign finance institutions and tendered for contract at international standards.

16 Turkish companies, operating in the field of construction business, building materials, carpet business, furniture production, food and trade in Tajikistan, gathered and established the Tajik-Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen Association (TATSIAD) in April 2006.
