DUSHANBE, December 8, 2014, Asia-Plus — At least one person was injured on December 8 as an iron tank exploded in Dushanbe.

The incident took place in the uptown Dushanbe, 9th kilometer of the Dushanbe-Vahdat highway, at around 10:20 pm.

Eyewitnesses say the explosion occurred after an owner of a new refueling station tried to test the durability of the tank by pumping air into it.

The blast was reportedly sufficiently powerful that it blew out the windows of nearby buildings, including School No 34.

The refueling station guard was injured and taken to a hospital, one of eyewitnesses said.
