DUSHANBE, December 25, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has congratulated Mr. Shinzo Abe on his re-election as Prime Minister of Japan, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

In his message of congratulations, Rahmon, in particular, said that Tajikistan attaches significance to its cooperation with Japan which is one of priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy.

Tajik leader noted that further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries will promote strengthening of peace and security in the region and in the world, the source said.

We will recall that Japanese MPs re-elected Shinzo Abe to serve another term as prime minister after his party”s landslide victory in snap elections on December 14.  Mr. Abe won 328 votes against 73 in the lower house of parliament, or Diet.
