DUSHANBE, December 26, 2014, Asia-Plus — Russia company, SpaceTeam Holding, will create the public transport management system in Dushanbe.

According to the SpaceTeam Holding press center, the system will work by the use of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS). 

GLONASS is a space-based satellite navigation system operated by the Russian Aerospace Defense Forces.  It provides an alternative to Global Positioning System (GPS) and is the second alternative navigational system in operation with global coverage and of comparable precision.  This global satellite navigation system reportedly provides real time position and velocity determination for military and civilian users. 

The SpaceTeam Holding press center says the public transport traffic will be managed from a single control center located in the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

SpaceTeam Holding will implement the project jointly with the UNDP Country Office in Tajikistan.
