DUSHANBE, January 6, 2015, Asia-Plus — The ruling People’s Democratic Party intends to nominate Sadriddin Sharipov, the managing director of the Tajik Aluminum Company (TALCO), which runs the largest aluminum manufacturing plant in Central Asia and is Tajikistan”s chief industrial asset, for election to the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament).
Sharipov is expected to be nominated to the parliament at the regional conference of the PDP that will take place in Tursunzoda at the beginning of the next week. Sadriddin Sharipov will run for election in the Tursunzoda single-mandate constituency.
Ex-Mayor of Tursunzoda Barakatullo Atokhoja represents this constituency in the current Majlisi Namoyandagon.
Sadriddin Sharipov is the member of Tajikistan upper house (Majlisi Milli) of parliament of the last two convocations.
