DUSHANBE, January 8, 2015, Asia-Plus — According to the Migration Service of the Ministry of Labor, Migration, and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, in 2014, a total of more than 834,000 people left Tajikistan
Of them, more than 670,000 people, including nearly 106,400 women, left the country in search of decent work. The majority of them, nearly 661,000 people, traveled to the Russian Federation, the source said.
According to him, 454,000 migrant workers, including nearly 377,700 men and 76,300 women, returned to Tajikistan last year.
It is to be noted that number of labor migrants traveling to Russia reduced due to entrance into the Russian Federation on International Passports (as of January 1, 2015) and due to amendments in the existing Russian Federation legislation on the activities of labor migrants from foreign countries.
