DUSHANBE, January 14, 2015, Asia-Plus — In 2014, Tajikistan imported some 580,000 tons of oil products, the deputy head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Nouriddin Mahmadov, told journalists in Dushanbe on January 14.
According to him, a totaled included more than 246,000 tons of gasoline, some 245,000 tons of diesel fuel, 60,500 tons of jet engine fuel, some 16,000 tons of fuel oil, etc.
Last year, Russia was the main supplier of oil products to Tajikistan. “In 2014, nearly 90 percent of Tajikistan’s fuel imports came from Russia,” Mahmadov said, noting that Kazakhstan (8.4 percent) and Turkmenistan (2.8 percent) also supplied oil products to Tajikistan last year.
