DUSHANBE, January 20, 2015, Asia-Plus — The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) cannot nominate a new candidate to run for election to parliament in the Shohmansour constituency instead of Suhrob Sharipov, who died yesterday, an official source at the Central Commission for Elections and Referenda (CCER) told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the country’s election legislation bans nomination of candidates after completion of the candidate nomination process, which was finished on January 14.

Now seven candidates will compete for seat in the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower house of parliament) in the Shohmansour constituency, including Ruqiya Nouri nominated by the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) and Ahmadsho Komilzoda nominated by the Democratic Party (DPT).

Ms. Ruqiya Nouri is the daughter of the Islamic Revival Party (IRP) founder Said Abdullo Nouri.  She is an expert in politics.  She graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Tajik National University and Tehran National University.

Ahmadsho Komilzoda is the activist of the DPT and the known Tajik journalist.
