DUSHANBE, January 22, 2015, Asia-Plus — The Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan forecasts that pump prices for oil products will continue falling in Tajikistan, the Antimonopoly Agency head Abdusamad Rajabzoda told reporters in Dushanbe on January 22.

“This issue is under the permanent control of the Agency,” Rajabzoda said.

According to data of the Ministry of Economic Development Trade (MEDT), gasoline prices have decreased in the country.

The price of one liter of 92-octane gasoline in Dushanbe has fallen from 6.20 somoni in December to 5.20 somoni, with similar falls in other parts of the country.

Russia provides the bulk of Tajikistan’s fuel imports.  In 2014, Russia accounted for 85 percent of Tajikistan’s fuel imports.  Last year, Tajikistan imported 580,000 tons of oil products.

This year, Russia is expected to deliver 830,000 tons of duty-free oil products to Tajikistan.
