DUSHANBE, January 26, 2015, Asia-Plus – A matricide has been detained in the Asht district, Sughd province.

According to the Interior Ministry’s website, resident of the Asht district, A.O., 30, who has previous conviction of rape, killed his mother Friday evening following family quarrel.

A.O. reportedly hit his 67-year-old mother on the head with a rock several times.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the matricide and an investigation is under way.
