DUSHANBE, January 26, 2015, Asia-Plus — The Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption has instituted criminal proceedings against two investigators from the Interior Ministry’s office in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district.

According to the anticorruption agency press center, Mohammad Nazriyev and Dilshod Pirmadov are suspected of taking bribes.

The preliminary investigation has reportedly established that they took 7,200 U.S. dollars from Rustam Taghoynazarov in exchange for dropping criminal case launched against him.

Besides, the investigators are charged with taking 4,000 U.S. dollars from H. Saidov in exchange for mitigating criminal punishment imposed on him, the source said.       

An investigation has been launched into abuse of office and bribe-taking, the source said.
