DUSHANBE, February 19, 2015, Asia-Plus — Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda yesterday held a meeting to review the results of the activity of the country’s banking system in 2014, Subhiddin Muhiddinov, a senior consultant to the president’s press center, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, the meeting participants noted that the banking system’s activity last year was stable despite the external financial and economic impact.

The meeting also discussed tasks for the current year and its participants proposed to establish the Banking System Development Council under the Government of Tajikistan and improve the country’s banking system in order to counter the influence of external factors.

Besides, the meeting participants discussed issues related to expansion of cooperation with foreign banks and ways to increase investment flows and volumes of small and medium-sized business lending, Muhiddinov said.
