DUSHANBE, March 19, 2015, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon has highly appraised a role of Tajik intelligentsia in implementation of the government policy, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

A traditional meeting of President Emomali Rahmon with representatives of Tajik intelligentsia was held at the Kokhi Navrouz Complex in Dushanbe on March 19.

Addressing the meeting, the president reportedly called on the country’s intelligentsia to use all their opportunities to raise national consciousness of the Tajik people, foster the spirit of patriotism among the young generation and propagate national values.

Rahmon stressed that among top-priority tasks of Tajik intelligentsia are development of education, science and culture, protection of national interests and development of fundamentals of civil society.

The head of state reportedly highly appraises a role of intelligentsia in implementation of the government policy and he proposed to work out the national development strategy of Tajikistan for the period until 2050.

The strategy must determine ways of further strengthening of Tajik statehood, protect national interests and serve the cause of strengthen of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms, Emomali Rahmon noted.
