DUSHANBE, May 15, 2015, Asia-Plus — Tajik Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimzod yesterday met here with a Chinese delegation, led by Ma Wei, an official with the Ministry of Public Security of China (MPS).

The Interior Ministry press center says the two sides discussed issues related to conducting a joint anti-terror drill.

They, in particular, discussed details of the upcoming war game and presented their proposals on this subject and exchanged views on the joint plan for conducting military training exercise, the source said.

The war game is expected to be conducted in the near future and the law enforcement servicemen of Tajikistan and China will rehearse coordination and interaction in combat missions in mountains.

The Ministry of Public Security of the People”s Republic of China (MPS) is the principal police and security authority of the mainland of the People”s Republic of China and the government agency that exercises oversight over and is ultimately responsible for day-to-day law enforcement. As the main domestic security agency in the People”s Republic of China, the MPS is the equivalent of the National Police Agency in Japan or national police in other countries.  It also controls and administers the People”s Armed Police.

Responsible for public security, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) is part of the State Council, China’s chief administrative body and principal police and security authority.

MPS is made up of several agencies which deal with operational and administrative aspects of national policing. Essential operational agencies include: National Security; Economic Crime Investigation; Border Control; Criminal Investigation; Fire Control; Prison Security; Traffic Control; International Police Cooperation; Drug Control; and Counter-terrorism.
