DUSHANBE, May 18, 2015, Asia-Plus — Over the first four months of this, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to little more than 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, which was 88.2 percent of the January-April 2014 level, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

Over the report period, the trade balance has been negative and amounted to 741.4 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-April have amounted to 289.5 million U.S. dollars, which was 17 percent, or 42.1 million USD, more than in the same period last year.

Over the same four-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 1.0304 billion U.S. dollars, which was 17.5 percent, or 218.7 million USD, more than in January-April 2014.   

In January-April this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 77 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the report period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 358 million USD; Kazakhstan – 215 million USD; and Switzerland – 113 million USD.
