DUSHANBE, May 27, 2015, Asia-Plus – The 38th session of the Council of Chiefs of Security Bodies and Special Services from the CIS nations took place in Dushanbe on May 26, according to the CIS Executive Committee.
The meeting participants reportedly discussed issues related to cooperation in addressing modern challenges and threats.
They, in particular, discussed the possibility of participation of extremist and neo-Nazi organizations in implementation of technologies of “color revolutions” within the CIS area.
They also discussed joint measures to provide information security.
The meeting participants also mapped out joint measures to counter possible threats from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) organization and exchanged views on work to prevent spread of religious extremism and terrorist ideology.
Besides, they discussed the progress of the implementation of the program of cooperation in preventing terrorism and other violent manifestations of extremism designed for 2014-2016 and the results of activities of the CIS Anti-terrorism Center (ATC-CIS) in 2014, CIS Executive Committee said.
