DUSHANBE, May 29, 2015, Asia-Plus – Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda met with his Kyrgyz counterpart Temir Sariyev on May 29 in the resort village of Burabay in Kazakhstan on the sidelines of the meetings of the Council of CIS Heads of Government and the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

According to the Kyrgyz government’s official website, the two discussed bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan Kyrgyzstan.

Tajik prime minister reportedly noted that Tajikistan was interested in further expansion of bilateral cooperation with Kyrgyzstan and pointed to the necessity of intensification of activities of the Tajik-Kyrgyz intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation and the Tajik-Kyrgyz commission for delimitation and demarcation of disputable stretches of common border.

Temir Sariyev, for his part, noted that there was a good potential for further development of relations between the two countries.  “Our relations are developing dynamically on a mutually advantageous basis,” he was quoted as saying.

On the common border delineation issue, Sariyev reportedly noted that Kyrgyzstan was interested in early settlement of the issue with due regard to the interests of both sides.

Rasoulzoda and Sariyev also discussed issues related to participation of Kyrgyzstan in the high-level international conference on the implementation of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Life”, 2005-2015 that will take place in Dushanbe from June 9-11.     

At the end of the meeting, Rasoulzoda invited his Kyrgyz counterpart to pay an official visit to Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz government’s official website said.
